Make popcorn the special way

Microwaving popcorn is boring and uneventful. It’s too easy. You just put it in for 5 minutes and let the microwave do the rest but where’s the fun in that? Instead, make popcorn the old fashioned way. On a stove and with ingredients around your house!

Benefits of homemade popcorn
Like all other processed foods, popcorn is no exception to having loads of chemicals and preservatives that eventually affect our health. Popcorn is actually relatively healthy. It’s just when companies decide to put salt, caramel, chocolate, and all these other high fat and sugars it becomes unhealthy. So avoid all the artificial colors and flavors and make delicious popcorn easily!

All you’ll need it 2 tablespoons of olive oil, ½ cups of corn kernels, Salt (optional), and melted butter (optional)

Step- by- step

  1. Get a nice deep saucepan and place it over medium heat. Slowly add the oil and 5 kernels into the pot. Cover it with a lid to make sure nothing goes flying. The kernels take a couple of minutes to pop but that’s just more anticipation for when you get to eat all the kernels you want. NOTE: Do Not overfill the pan with too many kernels. As they pop they expand and can possibly blow the lid off of the pan.
  2. Once your handful of kernels have burst open, take the lid off of the saucepan and take them out and place them on a bowl with paper towels to absorb the oil. Repeat the process for the rest of your popcorn
  3. When all your popcorn has fully popped, you can salt them to your taste. You can also add melted butter to give them that theater-like taste.

Melted butter and salt aren’t the only toppings you can put. If you have a sweet tooth, you can try all sorts of new popcorn recipes. The best part is you’ll know exactly what goes into your homemade popcorn!
